Elections to Parish Education Committee (PEC) for St. Augustine School

The PEC is responsible for governing St. Augustine School on behalf of the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver (CISVA) in accordance with CISVA’s policies and procedures. The PEC is comprised of members elected by the Parish and members appointed by the Pastor and/or PEC.

Elections to the PEC will be held at the Parish on May 25 and 26, 2024 if the number of nominees exceeds the number of vacancies.

The Nominating Committee invites parishioners to contact the Nominating Committee at [email protected] to obtain a copy of the Nomination Form. Completed Nomination Forms must be submitted to a member of the Nominating Committee by 5:00 pm on May 15, 2024. Members of the Nominating Committee for the 2024 Election are Jane McCarney, Rebecca Cleary and Irene Hensel.

In the event an election is required, the names of all bona fide candidates standing for election will be published in the Parish Bulletin one week before the election. In accordance with CISVA Policy 107: “Nothing should be permitted during the election that would diminish the Christian community in the parish. There should be no campaigning during the election. Candidates should not be put in a situation where they would be asked to show why they were better qualified (had greater faith or commitment, for example) than someone else.”

Parishioners may view the Voter’s List under the supervision of the Returning Officer, Linda Arnold, on Saturday and Sunday, May 11, 12, 18 and 19, 2024 following Mass in the Parish Centre.
